Behind the somewhat complicated and official German designation lies a simple, yet ingenious grinding device that offers exactly what its name suggests. In the usual angle-guided pull-through devices, there is a carbide V that pulls small chips out of the cutting edge in a longitudinal direction. In the suction cup roller grinder, on the other hand, two diabolos made of mechanical ceramic with an acute angle in two different grit sizes are hidden. By pulling the blade through, these diabolos are set in rotation, thus sharpening the cutting edge in the true and professional sense. The lever suction foot creates an enormous adhesion which holds the roller sharpener immovably on smooth surfaces. For all steel blades with a flat profile such as chef's and butcher's knives.
