In his designs, Ukrainian knifemaker Alexander Krava succeeds admirably in combining form and function at the highest level. Inspired by Koteyka, a virus with a cat as the figurehead, which is not taken entirely seriously by those familiar with the computer scene, the designer created the slipjoint knife of the same name. Three-dimensionally milled G10 handle scales with a velvety paw structure all the way to the back of the blade provide for an incomparable grip, while the D2 blade with a stonewash finish lies in wait and is only released on its prey from everyday cutting tasks with a quiet purr of the nail nick. Even without a locking mechanism, the blade is held securely by the taut spring between the stainless steel liners. It is not equipped with a clip or a lanyard hole, but with a lot of elegance.
